Bruns, Mareen

Lena Mareen Bruns, born in Bremen in 1989, is a Berlin-based writer and translator of poetry and prose. She studied German Contemporary Literature, Political Science and Philosophy in Kiel (Germany) and Gothenburg (Sweden) and holds a degree from the University of Gothenburg.

Due to her studies she lived in Sweden for five years, where she learned Swedish and began to translate. She was part of the Berliner Übersetzerwerkstatt at the LCB in 2018 and is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works, VdÜ. She has translated poetry by Malte Persson and Jila Mossaed. Her translations have been published in anthologies and she has taken part in the „international poesiefestival“ in Berlin as a translator.

Leesch, Klaus

Klaus Leesch was born in 1947 in Stralsund and grew up in the Ruhr. After a commercial apprenticeship, working as a dental salesman, four years of service in the air force and secondary school as a mature student, he completed his studies in Cologne as a qualified librarian in public libraries. Afterwards he worked as an archivist / documentarist for more than 25 years at the WDR (Western German Broadcaster) in Cologne, where he was for many years head of the press documentation of this broadcaster. In "retirement" he completed his Masters in history in 2013. Currently doctoral thesis on "Eduard Bernstein. Life and Work. 1850-1932" with Prof. Dr. Peter Brandt.

He published »Vorwärts« in »Die Neue Zeit«. Die sozialdemokratische Presse im langen 19. Jahrhundert ("Vorwärts" in "Die Neue Zeit": The social democratic press in the long 19th century) in 2014.

 

Bonn, Susanne

Susanne Bonn, born in 1967, began her career as a secretary with the European Space Agency and went on to collect degrees in translation, history and music.
In 1997, she started out as a freelance translator of games and non-fiction.

Hengevoß, Christine

Born in Frankfurt/Oder in 1956, Christine Hengevoß grew up in Frankfurt/Oder and Moscow. She studied Slavic and English at the Potsdam University of Education and worked as a foreign language teacher.

She has been a freelance literary translator, mainly from Russian, since 2012.

Henze, Valeska

Dr. Valeska Henze is a Berlin-born author, translator & lecturer. She studied political science in Berlin and Sweden, researched political culture in Sweden and Poland, and has worked as a translator from English, Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian since 2008, primarily for non-fiction and science.

Eglinger, Yvonne

Yvonne Eglinger, born in 1988, studied Literary Translation in Düsseldorf and is now working as a freelance translator in Freiburg, Breisgau. She mainly translates novels and non-fictional works from English and French into German, including books by Jacqueline Woodson, Margaret Atwood and Alice Zeniter.
