Cholpin, Alexander
Alexander Cholpin was born in Kharovsk, Vologda Region, in 1984 and lives in Murmansk. He graduated from Murmansk State Pedagogical University in 2006 with a degree in Social Pedagogy, and in 2024 from the Volgograd State Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education with a degree in History and Social Studies teaching.
Cholpin has worked as a courier, loader, security guard, salesperson, claims specialist, and assistant drilling master. Held the position of manager at the Globus bookstore, the oldest and largest local bookstore in Murmansk, for 14 years. Since 2025, has been working as a store manager at Bookvoed, one of the stores in the federal book retail chain.
He was the finalist and winner of the All-Russian Literary Forum-Festival Captain Grey in 2015, 2023 and 2024. Finalist of the All-Russian Literary Forum named after N. Gumilev The Blessed Word, held in Moscow in 2015. Winner of the competitive selection for the Governor of the Murmansk Region's grant for book publishing support in 2016. Thanks to this grant, the author's collection of poems The Green Belfry was published. Member of the jury of the Murmansk Region Book of the Year competition in 2024 and 2025.
